PHCC-NC to Host Expo 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHCC-NC and MC of NC Plan for Merger

Raleigh, NC and Charlotte, NC – May 31, 2011 - After many years of dividing their resources, two trade associations have endeavored to merge into one stronger trade association to represent the plumbing and mechanical trades in North Carolina.

The Executive Committees and Boards of Directors of the Mechanical Contractors Association of North Carolina (MC of NC) and the Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors of North Carolina (PHCC-NC) have decided to undertake the task of merging these two great associations into one trade association.  At their respective Annual Conventions in April, 2011, the memberships of both associations voted unanimously in favor of the merger. The work now begins to formalize the merger into an association that will be known as the North Carolina Plumbing-Mechanical Association, with a targeted merger completion and launch date of January 1, 2012.

After recent changes in Executive Leadership in both of the Associations, discussions began in earnest on the possibility of merging the two Associations in order to focus their efforts and resources in the same direction and emerge as a stronger and more powerful group that can further their causes.  History and Traditions have separated the two groups for years despite many common beliefs and desires but all involved believe that now is the time to look forward and begin to imagine what can be done together.  Both groups agree that the issues that will be encountered along the way must be addressed in a fashion that focuses on the greater good yet continues to respect the histories and traditions of the merging groups, and for the benefit of their members and the p-h-c industry at large.
